It has been a long wet, windy cold winter and we really wanted to do something a little bit different and get away for a few days as life’s been a bit uneventful.
We choose to go glamping we’ve never been before and being the start of spring probably not the best time to go camping. We also didn’t want to go to far just a couple of hours from home.
Ica glamping is on the south east coast near Castle Point. It’s a glamping spot in the middle of a working farm. To get there we had to open gates full of baby cows! They were so tame and so curious and I completely forgot to take a picture.
It was a nice drive and sunny when we arrived! That didn’t last long and the rain soon came down! That didn’t stop us from having a late night bath it was hooked up to gas underneath to keep us warm. We enjoyed cheese and wine, played a card game about food and wine! Lots of laughter!
Ica Glamping is off the grid, no internet, no phone signal, no wifi, run on solar and gas! This was the perfect chance to get back to nature and actually talk to each other! If you go I recommend taking a book and/or a pack of playing cards.
Saturday was rainy and did it rain? Oh yes it did! We put the bath on along with the heat so it could warm up while we had breakfast which was supplied by the hosts this included; eggs from the farm, tea and coffee, yoghurt and cereals! I got to enjoy an hour long bath in the hour of sunshine we had!
Our afternoon was spent playing the game of life, eating cheese and making use of the bbq. Long with staying warm! I recommend taking warm clothes, a blanket and maybe an oodie.
The little cabin area was surround by sheep and lambs who were nosy neighbours, but very cute and at least they settled when the sun went down.
We got to meet the host who brought us sausages from his farm and stayed for a few minutes chat! He was very friendly!
For my first off grid experience it was a good one! I just wish it was so rainy and muddy but that’s all part of the experience….correct!

This sounds lovely! From the breakfast, the sausages, the baby cows (squeeee - I love calves and lambs in the springtime!) and the bathtub out in the sunshine! I can see why you liked your first glamping experience! :)
